Welcome to my website ... and enjoy my journey inside the twisted world of Romanian fashion: from fabric choosing to pattern cutting, to the actual sewing - right now, I try to do my best in bulding my own clothing label: DIANA BOBAR DESIGN and having fun blogging the process.

Gray Scarf-Top and Painted Dress

I started working with patterns (of course with Silvia’s help); it’s interesting but also harder than I thought, to construct a garment geometrically and then perfectly sew it. I started cutting this dress (that can be also worn as a top) with the help of a pattern, it had a rather simple shape, so I decided to “spice” it up a bit with pleats and by adding one extra piece of fabric that you can fold, pin and tuck however you want. Also, I added a bit of black&bronze graphic painted details on the right shoulder part of the garment. From the remaining fabric I made the scarf-top-thing that you see in the first collage, there are actually two different colors of the same fabric used for that. Anyway, I love these types of experimental, unique clothes, that are really easy to wear casually, but never ever look boring, so I probably won’t stop here.

I am happy to announce that me and Silvia will actually make all the clothes you’ll see on this website from now on, professionally (for sale), so if you spot something and would like to own it, just contact me at diana[at]sofashon.com or dianabobar[at]yahoo.com to provide us your measurements, that means we’ll cut the pattern exactly for your body type and shape. Unique and fitted? You bet!

The paint is special paint for textiles that doesn’t go off while washing.

Here it’s worn as a tight body-con dress.

  5. In all honesty, I don’t think it’s too hot. Sorry, just my opinion. It looks tacky and like it’s been put together in 5 minutes. Sorry…not my ideal look!

  6. Sooo not hot! I wouldn’t look at a girl wearing that frock ONCE…let alone twice!
