Florina published her new Josephine collection of jewelry today and I had to share it, as I made the dress for these photos (click to see the full post if you want to better see the dress) taken by Andi Popescu of the pretty Romina. Anca Mihalache was responsible for the perfect fall/winter make-up. How amazing are all the vintage golden and bronze frames behind her? The photos were actually taken in a local store in the Unirii Square in Timisoara, where they are actually produced. Thumbs up and support for local businesses who survive in this economy!

Alex Matusciac took these photos last year, but I forgot to post them. I made this navy velvet stretch dress for the photo shoot, very last minute, but I love the glam feeling and atmosphere of the photographs. Makes me crave for some sunshine.

Theo Manusaride asked her friend Andreea to pose for her in Paris. I loved to be able to take part of the project by making the wedding dress for the photo shoot and Florina made the Josephine headpiece. I custom made it for Andreea, she lives in Paris and she sent over her measurements, meaning we had no way to make the fitting, so I made the dress and sent it over hoping that it would fit her – and it did! I was pleasantly surprised when Theo posted the pictures online, as they were even more beautiful than I expected. Paris is indeed an amazing city, hopefully I will get to visit it more next year.

I also can not wait to be able to do more projects like this one in the year to come.

A couple of weeks ago me and Florina helped Alex with a photo shoot he planned, I styled it and we used some of the Josephine new jewelry. I made the black and beige lace underwear specially for the photo shoot and we used high heeled pumps from the Jazz store. Both coats are from a second hand store where we like to go from time to time and search for over the top clothing items that we otherwise won’t find anywhere else.

Also, I would love to have more styling jobs, so if you are a young photographer and need some help with the choosing of clothes for a shoot, let me know!

For this fall 2010 collection I went all natural – both color&idea-wise- with mostly wool and silk fabrics used and a muted, neutral color palette. Because I love color, I could not help myself and used a bit of a flower printed fabric, an emerald green and a terracotta colored silk fabric. I went for a cozy, mostly casual, feminine – even though a bit bohemian – look. Also, I wanted this collection to be a bit more complex regarding each particular look, so that I can please most of my clients: from young, funky, prom-going ladies, to successful working women.

This evening I will get all the photos from the photo shooting that we did a week ago, so I will probably post the new fall collection online sometime tomorrow. Until then I decided to upload a few snapshots that me and Anca took while Andi made the magic happen. Enjoy and check back soon!

After Andi took the mood photos at Herneacova with the horse, we went back at his studio to shoot the look book. Anca changed her make-up and thought of a dark red lip to go with the neutral colors of the collection.

Have to mention my amazing team once again: Jasmina Marcov – model, Andi Popescu - photography (&his assistant Bebe), Anca Buzea - make-up, Josephine – jewelry, Coca Zaboloteanu – shoes and my darling sister Flo who was my assistant for the day and helped me a lot with the outfit changes.

Claudia Marcu contacted me one day because she wanted to take pictures of my dresses and I was, of course, open to collaborating with her, so she cam over with her singer friend Laura (photos above) and I opened the attic above the atelier for them to have a bit of fun taking photographs of two of my dresses.

Claudia also wanted to take photos of me so we organised a photo shoot last week at the Music University in Timisoara. A sneak-peak below:

The dresses are made by me, of course, and most of the accessories are Josephine. Can’t wait to post all the pictures from the photo-shoot.

The runway presentation for the collection will take place this Sunday, 15th August (just like las year – same place, same time) at Valiug (you can see more pics of the resort and surroundings on Gasthof Tirol’s website). Flavia and Vlad (two bright young architects) will create an installation for the runway, can not wait to see how it will eventually look. I am sooo excited!

The mood/ad photographs are actually made on top of Andi’s studio, so that’s quite amazing, right?

I wanted the collection to be very light, summery, easy and breezy. The main inspiration is Van Gogh’s sunflower and his night paintings, so I got the color palette from there: warm yellow, beige, cream balanced with darker notes of blue, navy and black.

These are some of the sketches that I randomly did these last couple of months while I was thinking about the collection. I usually sketch very fast and on any bit of paper I can find around, that is why some pieces look so wrinkled.

Andi Popescu photographed me a while ago for the ‘Pe Tocuri’ magazine. I am wearing a black&white printed dress that I made myself and this Josephine black pearl necklace that Florina custom made for me. <3<3<3 it!

I can not wait to show you all the pics we took, including some of my favorite clothing items & pairs of shoes. It was a whole lot of fun!

My favorite high-heels are pictured above – color coordinated of course. It’s no secret that I love super high heels. I don’t really buy clothing anymore, as I create/sew whatever I want for myself. But I can not resist them high heeled stilettos. Nobody is perfect, right?
