This jacket is made from 5cm thin vertical layers of sequins, sewed together on a black cotton jacket base. I custom made it for Gabriela and I can say that sewing it actually made me sweat quite a bit. Was harder than I thought but I love hoe it turned out.

My friend Leontina came over for a fitting. The way it looks on a human body is always so different compared to the way it looks on a dress form, so whenever I have special orders like this one, from a client who can not come at the atelier for a fitting, I always ask a friend over (who has similar measurements) to try it on. It helps me a lot to see the needed changes if there are any, of course.

My sister tried it on so I can see the fit. She also made this dress for herself last week.

I made Simina’s light silk ivory ruffle collar coat for her to wear over her wedding dress.

Leontina also tried on this navy slightly draped jersey dress. She said it felt really comfortable. And of course my hair is a mess after so much work – I am wearing a pink pleated skirt and a purple/gray jersey blouse that my sister made for us (we share all our clothes, of course). She was a doll recently and came over at the atelier to help, and whenever there is no deadline I let her make clothing for herself. This way she actually learns how to sew really well and she  gets to use her imagination a lot while learning to work with patterns. I personally am really proud of her, I bet she actually knows more about this job than a fashion design student does.

This is the fake fur heart shaped carpet for the clients to stand on, in front of the mirror, while I fit their dresses. Cozy & cute, right?

It’s 1AM right now – I worked all day today, but I really wanted to post all these pics, to show you how much I’ve missed the blogging. I still have some emails to send but then I’ll go home (I promise, mama).
