I told you in the post below about the wedding that I worked on last week. I did not get the pictures from the wedding yet, however, I realized I made a few myself, at the fittings for most dresses or during the actual work. I usually take these kinds of pics for my DBD archives. Enjoy!
The tulle part at the bottom of the dress is actually the one for the wedding dress. It was on the dress form and I just left it there, because I liked how it would have looked as part of the dress.
These are two of the lovely bridesmaids with different dresses. The first one is classically prom-esque while the second one is more fitted and is longer at the back.
This is the dress Octaviana, the lovely bride, wore at the first ceremony. Afterwards, she changed into the actual wedding dress. This one:
Before and after: the corset base-type of lining and the finished top part of the wedding dress. The color is a pearl type of cream.
Before and after: in the picture on the left, the dress is actually pinned in needles, and in the picture on the right, the dress is almost finished. Please ignore the harsh photo-camera flash. I believe it was late at night when I took these pics, therefor had no natural light to use. As I said, they are simply snaps for my own archive.
I sewed about 35 tiny pearls on the back of the wedding dress, for a more elegant effect. Detail picture above.
This blue dress (*updated photo from the wedding, with attitude’n'all) is a classic strapless tube dress, with a black bow at the waist and black flower details at the side. Reminded me a lot of the first dresses I used to make from my mom’s old skirts.
And this pink dress is not actually for this wedding, but I thought it would perfectly blend in with all the pics/recent work of mine: feminine and overall adorably pretty, no?
“Repetitio mater studiorum est’ is one of the few phrases I know in Latin (studied it in high-school a bit) and it means that you learn while actually working. So true!
