Recently, I had a few dress-orders for weddings and got to think more about it. You wear them on that special day and afterwards one shoves it in the closet, forgetting about it. I am not talking about the wedding dress, but the bridesmaid dress as well.

Most people say that the bridesmaids must not overshadow the bride, meaning their dresses should not be prettier than the dress worn by the bride. I have no idea where this fact comes from, but I know nothing compares to the power of the white/crème wedding gown. That’s why I really don’t understand the cliché of wearing an ugly bridesmaid’s dress, when there are so many extremely pretty dresses out there that you can also wear at other events.

If a dress is adorable, fits well and you feel and look good when wearing it, I don’t see a reason not to wear it again. We are in a worldwide recession and maybe the best thing that came out from this whole, otherwise bad, situation is the fact that people pay more attention to the clothes they wear, And no, it is not a bad thing to wear a special dress again. Is it?
