Diana Bobar Design fall 2008 print work: labels and look book.
Champagne for everyone! Why? Because I have my own tiny tiny fashion business running. I finalized my paperwork, got everything I need to start giving out receipts and selling my designs to stores worldwide (I wish
). I am glad most part of the work is over. I finally have my own little cute stamp with ‘Diana Bobar Design‘ on it, the ordered quilted labels will be ready soon; also I got a dress form to photograph the clothes on it for the future online store. I am glad that I managed to get things done, while I still go to school. I can’t wait to finish University this year, so I can invest all my energy in fashion design and production, as it’s getting more and more serious.
I happily remember how I used to ‘transform’ my mom’s old dresses into tops, just for the fun of it. It’s quite amazing how much things have changed since last summer, for the best, of course.
However, the world is full of mean, envious people. I get to know that almost every day. Fashion students that I used to be friends with don’t even talk to me anymore, people that I wasn’t friends with before now come up to me and ask for clothes and expect an instant friendship to get them free stuff. It’s all a bit weird and hard to handle, but whatever. I’ll compromise as long as I’ll be able to keep on doing what I love, and right now, that is making pretty pretty clothes.

Yay, I’m so pleased for you! Ignore the jealous people, you’re doing what you love and that’s the most important thing.

I have been visiting your blog for almost a year now and I can’t believe how much you and your business has evolved, I am so proud of you. Your business cards, lookbook and photos are sooo professional looking. What typr of camera are you using as well as the lighting? Did you make the cards and lookbook yourself?

Thank you so much for being such a great reader!!! For the look book photos I used a Cannon (have no idea what kind of) and flash (unfortunately no sophisticated lighting). My boyfriend is a graphic designer and he helps me with the print work/web site design. But I update everything on the site myself and will do organize everything for the future online store myself too:) Can’t wait for that to be launched!

Hi,
i’ve been reading your blog for a few months and i must say “I LOVE WHAT I SEE”.
I’m also very glad your dream is becoming more and more real every day! You’re an inspiration to all of us who secretly wish, but do not have the guts to take the first step
Your little “business accessories” look great, may they bring you luck and success!

I am new to your blog, but I can’t help myself to feel really happy for you. Well done! And yes, I agree with all the other people above, the graphic design is immaculate. Great way to compliment your beautiful clothes.

I have been reading your blog for a while.Just wanted to say congrats for the originality of the collection.It looks great.However, I see that for the shape of the look book you were inspired by the Nude spring collection. I think it would have been better for you to find your way of expression. Especially since I see you are a creative girl.

Thank you: well, that was a pure coincidence. The look-book was made by my graphic designer boyfriend, before I even shot those photos for ‘Nude’. I didn’t even make the connections in my mind:) so thanks for pointing it out to me and thanks for reading my blog;
means a lot!

Hi,
I’ve just read this and like others have said you are an inspiration to us all. I had my own idea of running my own fashion company since finishing university in fashion and brand promotions. However I’m not a designer but have experience in production and brand promotions. I have a friend of a friend who owns a few shops in London, so I have finally started to look into it more.
I’ve just started to do my business plan and research any advice?
