The dress from the editorial, worn by myself. I know, it looks so much better on Alexa, the Bestmodels model! This is a card I got from my good friend and fellow fashion designer Silvia Labos. It means “Happy Birthday” on Romanian.

Yesterday was my birthday. I worked all day: running errands, finishing orders, buying fabric; so I pretty much ran around town from one place to another, spending my time at the post office and then at a favorite place of mine: the fabric store. I got some amazing knit-fabric as a birthday present for myself, for the next fall 2008/2009 collection, so I can’t wait to use that and sew some cute, knit dresses. I also got an amazing birthday present from Stiletto: they published the editorial in which they used one of my spring/summer designs: the strapless pleated flower dress. Yey! To be featured next to Maria Lucia Hohan, a Romanian designer I really admire, is beyond incredible (her dresses are so flirty and feminine, impossible no to love). My design looks so much better in Alex Conu’s photograph, I know I need more lighting in my look-book photographs. That’s why, hopefully, I’ll be able to shoot my next look-book in a professional studio with Roro as my model (I miss working with her).

The present that I got from my boyfriend was a book I wanted for a long time now. Whenever we passed any bookstore, I always used to stop and hopelessly dream of owning the Fashion Now book. I can’t wait to read about all the designers featured, and dare I say, dream of someday being featured in such a book. It was a Happy Birthday indeed!
