I thought of this dress for Evie, after she ordered this clutch from me. As the shipping charges got to be more expensive than expected, and after she waited quite some time for the clutch to get all the way to Malaysia, I decided to make her a dress, as a thank you for her trust, patience and support. She didn’t think it was right for me to just send her a dress as a present, so she didn’t want to give me her measurements. That made me think of a tight, but stretchy dress that would fit more bodytypes. Also, as African prints will be big next summer, I thought an African inspired printed sheer fabric would be a great part of the dress, like an attached scarf, making it versatile and wearable in a gazillion different ways. Here you can see me trying on the dress, right after I sewed it (you can actually also see my old sewing machine on the table in the middle picture) . I’m sure soon enough you’ll get to see Evie wearing her “Evie Dress” in many more interesting ways.
