Remember this Zara dress?

There is one store in Timisoara where I found this dress but the price was incredibly high, about 3 times it’s original value. Seriously. It was a shock for me when I look at the price tag. So I decided to create/sew/make my own ruffle top/dress/skirt. Easier for me to make things than to get money to buy them.

I can wear the top with pencil skirts or skinny, black pants. Fashion rule: volume in one part, tight in the other.

Very versatile, no? I can wear it as a high waisted skirt, creating an empire waist or lowering it and just wearing it with nothing underneath. It totally works.

Love big, puffy ruffles; love volume in general.

While I still crave after that Zara dress (Smara, I know you know how much, you feel me) I don’t see it as such a big deal anymore. Too bad I can’t make my own Dior couture gown

Did you teach yourself how to sew? How did you make this piece so versatile?

Yes, I thought myself how to sew! Well, the secret is in those straps. They are changeable, so it doesn’t matter the waist size, you can tie it however you want.

I also love Zara but there’s no store where i live.
I was kinda thinking the same thing as the first comment, i was wondering if you bought a book or if someone taught you. I’m glad you said you taught yourself how to sew cause that gives me hope, knowing that i can also teach myself.
